The canyon of the Panjica River is located in southwestern Serbia, not far from Arilje, in the village of Dobrača. The canyon is adorned with incredible beauty, wilderness, a waterfall, and beautiful cascades, which give it an almost tropical appearance. During the hike, we will see the Water Cave, which is the most important and largest speleological object in this area. What is interesting is that our botanist and doctor Josif Pančić walked through the canyon of the Panjica River, and found an endemic plant species in that very place. His research and discoveries contributed to a better understanding of the biodiversity of the region, making the Panjica Canyon an important place for scientific studies.
On this hiking tour, we will go along the canyon of the Panjica River to the Panjica waterfall and the Water Cave. As you hike through the canyon of the Panjica River, you will find yourself surrounded by dense vegetation and paths that lead through untouched nature. Before that, we will visit the hill of Gradina in the town of Trešnjevica, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the valley of Moravica and Arilje.
