What are you going to see?

Uvac Canyon

Uvac is Special Nature Reserve known by its meanders with a height of up to 100 m. The canyon is the habitat of 104 bird species, most notably the Griffon Vulture – vulture species, with a wingspan of 3 meters, which role in the food chain in the ecosystem is irreplaceable – it only feeds on dead animals, which prevents the spread of infection and it is important in “natural recycling.” Ice cave is part of Uvac cave system, the longest cave system in the country (6185 m). It is rich in cave ornaments.

Stopica Cave

Stopica cave is situated on the northeastern side of mountain Zlatibor between the villages Rozanstvo and Trnava and from the tourist center, Zlatibor is located 19 km away. Stopica Cave is a river cave, through which water flows Trnavski stream. Length of the cave is around 700 m, covers an area of almost 8.000 m² and has a capacity of over 120.000 m³. The cave has an impressive entrance hole from the right side of the River Pristavica. The limestone layer in the cave dates from the Trias period and it is over 100 m thick. The cave is named after the little village Stopici that belongs to the village Rozanstvo. Stopica Cave consists of five sections: The Light Room, The Dark Room, The Large Room with baths, and The Channel with baths and The River Channel. The tourist part of the cave has several attractive elements, such a spacious entrance, a sipar cup called “Dogs’ Cemetery”, the waterfall called “The Source of life”, and the series of special tufa baths.

Tufa baths represent the emblem of the cave, and they were formed by deposits of limestone. Tufa baths are occasionally flooded and in the forms of unique cascades.

Sirogojno is an open-air museum, or “ethno village” known as the Old Village Museum covering nearly 5 hectares with authentic elements of ordinary life collected from all over the Zlatibor region from the 19th century. The ethno village displays a set of traditional wooden buildings, including a bakery, a dairy, and an inn, all in authentic form. The village of Sirogojno was declared a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1983, and it is protected by the Republic of Serbia.

The selected buildings represent a wealth of architectural and cultural development of Zlatibor region housing, also showing social and economic relations in rural settlements. Knowledge and skill with which timber was treated reached a high level, which places these buildings among the major architectural achievements.

The Dinar log cabin is basically rectangular and placed on a stone foundation. Walls are made of logs – hewn beams placed horizontally on top of each other. The permanent exhibition consists of two Zlatibor households, with residential and commercial buildings, such were owned by cooperative rural families in the second half of 19th and early 20th century. The commercial part consists of structures for the storage and processing of fruits and buildings for livestock, while Shepherd’s Flat is a separate entity. In 2012 the museum exhibition included a reconstructed classroom, as well. All the buildings are furnished with authentic furniture.

With this program are valid “Explore Serbia” association tour execution rules and general terms of travel, April 2017. The organizer reserves the right to the change program – schedule due to objective circumstances.
