Rising like the true roof of Šumadija, Mount Rudnik dominates the Serbian landscape, and its highest peak, Cvijićev Peak (1132 m), proudly holds the title of the highest in all of Šumadija. This mighty massif is not only the geographical center but also the hydrographic heart of the region, where the basins of Zapadna Morava, Velika Morava, and Kolubara meet. The mine did not get its name by chance - its underground hides lead and zinc ores, a wealth that has been exploited for centuries. But what makes this mountain even more fascinating is its volcanic character! Witnesses of that fiery origin are rock masses and the former volcanic cup of Ostrovica, which still stands today as a reminder of the distant geological past.
Rudnik is not just a mountain - it is a natural oasis. Its dense forests, plenty of sunny days, and exceptional air ionization create a microclimate similar to the most famous mountain spas. Whether you're looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoying beautiful landscapes, or a real hiking challenge, Rudnik is a place where you'll take a deep breath and recharge the energy of nature.
On this hiking tour, we will explore the trails of Rudnik's southern peaks through dense forests, rocky viewpoints, and picturesque glades, allowing you to experience a real hiking challenge.
