Velika (Golema) Porica is a karst pit and cave located on the northern slopes of Rtanj, near the village of Šarbanovac. This natural formation is exceptionally rare in its shape and size. The pit has a grand opening with a diameter of about 30 meters, which is quite a rarity in Serbia. The total length of the cave system is 217 meters, while its depth is approximately 35 meters. It consists of several morphological units and channels, which are part of a complex morphogenetic succession and represent a significant speleological site in this part of Serbia.
A unique hiking tour through the untouched areas of southern Rtnje, where we will explore the remote and lesser-known peaks of this famous mountain. Instead of the famous Šiljko, this time we are climbing to Babu, a beautiful peak from which views of all corners of the world can be seen. It is preceded by one of the most fascinating natural wonders of this region – Velika (Golema) Porica, an impressive karst pit and speleological gem, which will leave you breathless.
A circular path about 15 km long awaits us, through colorful glades and grass ridges, with a total ascent of about 650 m. The tour is medium demanding, suitable for all hikers with a solid level of fitness and a desire to discover the authentic, wild side of Rtnje.
