Hiking tour on Mount Cer, which was once an island mountain in the Pannonian Sea. It is located in the northwestern part of Serbia, the highest peak is at 687 m. The mountain was named after the numerous trees of the Quercus Cerris tree. It is quite wooded, and uninhabited, it has the most beech, oak, and hornbeam trees. A walk through untouched nature and a tour of cultural and historical monuments on Cer is a kind of time travel, which will not leave you indifferent. It is a perfect place for nature lovers and those looking for peace outside of the city.
After the hiking tour, we will go to relax and, if desired, swim in the pools and use spa and wellness services.

Additional notes:
- Equipment for the tour: Deep hiking shoes with Vibram soles, and layered clothing according to the weather conditions, we recommend poles, bring enough water and some food (snacks, sandwiches, fruit). In case of snowy conditions, put on warmer clothing for winter conditions (winter jacket, hat, gloves), winter hiking pants, gaiters, waterproof hiking backpack, headlamp, and spare cover. You must bring enough water (1.5 l), one meal, energy bars, and dried fruit.

- Duration: about 6 to 7 hours with breaks
- A minimum of 18 registrants is required for the realization of the Cer hiking tour.
- Price is for members of "Explore Serbia". You can find membership information here. For those who do not have a membership card, the price is 4800 dinars.
- Transportation from Novi Sad: the surcharge is 1200 dinars. Another option is to take the train to the Tošin Bunar railway station in New Belgrade, where you can wait for our transport. You can see the timetable here.
- Own transportation: in case you come with your transport, the price of the tour is 2,700 dinars (with Explore Serbia membership cards) or 3,700 dinars (for those who do not have a membership card).
- Accident insurance: in order for this type of insurance to be active, you need to send us your personal number (JMBG) when registering.
- In case of unfavorable weather conditions or an insufficient number of registered passengers, the deadline for notification of postponement or cancellation of the tour by the organizer is 2 days before departure.
- Trip cancellations by passengers:
- In case of cancellation of the trip by the passenger, 5 or more days before the tour date, the Agency retains the amount of 20% of the reservation costs.
- In case the traveler cancels the trip less than 5 days before the trip, the agency reserves the right to the entire amount. In case of replacement by another passenger who is found either by the passenger himself or by the Agency, 90% of the paid amount is returned to the passenger.
- In case of illness of the passenger and cancellation up to 3 days before the tour, the paid money can be returned or the amount can be transferred for another tour organized by the Agency, and the traveler is obliged to send medical documentation about the illness in writing. In case of illness of the traveler and cancellation less than 3 days before the tour, in addition to sending medical documentation about the illness, the traveler is obliged to compensate the Agency for the incurred costs (transportation and travel organization costs), and part of the money can be refunded.
Cer Mountain
It has great historical significance, because the The Battle of Cer took place there in the First World War in August 1914. After the victory, Sabac was liberated, which definitely left the Austro-Hungarian army in Serbia.
The legend of the emperor Trojan and his five daughters Kosani, Koviljka, Vidi and Soki originated on the mountain Cer, after which the cities were named Soko-grad, Koviljača, Vidin grad and Kosanin grad (on Cer). The name of the fifth daughter was Draga. There are three very important monasteries on Cer, the Cokesina Monastery, the Radovasnica Monastery and the Petkovica Monastery. Miloš Obilić, more precisely from the village of Miloševac, comes from these parts, it is believed that he built a monastery (Čokešina) church dedicated to the Birth of the Most Holy Mother of God.

- Departure from Belgrade at 7 a.m., from the parking lot of the municipality of Novi Beograd.
- Traveling via Šabac, with a coffee break on the way, arriving at Cer around 9 am.
Hiking tour on the mountain Cer
- Start of hiking tour.
- The hiking trail mostly goes along a forest path, through a beech, oak and hornbeam forest, with a visit to beautiful lookouts.
- On the footpath there are fortifications from the Roman period, such as Trojan's and Kosana's town. We will also remember the history of the Battle of Cer and get acquainted with the natural values of the Cer mountain (flora and fauna), traditions, and customs of the local population. The trail leads to the picnic area Krstovi from where there is a beautiful view of the surroundings.
