The special nature reserve of Gornje Podunavlje represents a geographical region that stretches along the upper course of the Danube river and includes parts of several countries, including Serbia.

It is believed that this area of our country was inhabited since prehistoric times. Given that the Danube has always been an important route for trade, it certainly contributed to the development of settlements along the river. In addition to the settlements, Gornje Podunavlje can boast and be proud of its exceptional flora and fauna, culture, tradition, heritage... 

On the way to the Karapandza eco-center, we will pass Bezdan, which bears the epithet - water village, since it is surrounded by rivers. Bezdan is one of the oldest settlements on the territory of Vojvodina, and at the same time, it is one of the larger rural settlements in Backa. As many as 25 different nationalities live in Bezdan, which makes it a real Vojvodina multinational village.

On this tour, an interesting hiking trail through the nature reserve awaits us, 10 km long, after which you can optionally decide to ride a canoe or ride a catamaran. 

Additional notes:

• Tour equipment for Gornje Podunavlje: Bring the standard equipment for hiking. Mountaineering shoes or sports sneakers with a stronger sole, adequate hiking clothing adapted to the weather conditions, a backpack, bring enough water, and some food (snacks, sandwiches, fruit). Footwear such as slippers, flip-flops, and water sandals is not recommended!
  Bring a spare change of clothes, in case you get wet during the tour.
• Canoeing lasts 1 hour, and is not physically and technically demanding. Regardless of whether you have previous experience with a kayak or a canoe, you will be able to navigate the same without problems, and without fear. Two people can be in one canoe. The capacity available for the canoe is 14 people.
• If you are looking for a more passive vacation after the hiking tour, we recommend it catamaran ride.The duration of the tour is 1 hour.
• When checking in, please let us know if you prefer the canoe or catamaran option. 
• Information about a hiking trail:
  • Length: 10 km
  • Category: easy, walk through the forest and along the canal, the fitness and technical path is not demanding, and it is suitable for all ages.
  • Duration: about 4 hours with breaks
• For the tour realization, it is necessary a minimum of 18 passengers
• Price is for members of "Explore Serbia". You can find membership information here. For those who do not have a membership card, the price is 4700 dinars.
• Own transportation: in case you come with your own transport, the price of the tour is 2,600 dinars (with Explore Serbia membership cards) or 3,600 dinars (for those who do not have a membership card).
• In case of insufficient number of registered passengers or unfavorable weather conditions, the deadline for notification of postponement or cancellation of the tour is 2 days before departure.
• Accident insurance: persons between the ages of 14 and 75 are insured. When registering, and no later than 2 days before the tour, you need to send us your first and last name and your personal number.

• Trip cancellations by passengers: 

  • In case of cancellation of the trip by the passenger, 5 or more days before the tour date, the Agency retains the amount of 20% of the reservation costs.
  • In case the traveler cancels the trip less than 5 days before the trip, the agency reserves the right to the entire amount. In case of replacement by another passenger who is found either by the passenger himself or by the Agency, 90% of the paid amount is returned to the passenger.
  • In case of illness of the passenger and cancellation up to 3 days before the tour, the paid money can be returned or the amount can be transferred for another tour organized by the Agency, and the traveler is obliged to send medical documentation about the illness in writing. In case of illness of the traveler and cancellation less than 3 days before the tour, in addition to sending medical documentation about the illness, the traveler is obliged to compensate the Agency for the incurred costs (transportation and travel organization costs), and part of the money can be refunded.

  According to Article 79 of the Law on Tourism, protection is not provided for one-day tours in terms of travel guarantees.
