Via ferrata Kablar is a unique experience on the rocks of Kablar next to the Turčinovac cave. Hiking tour on Kablar to the lookout point from where the meanders of the West Morava are best seen.

Via ferrata or steel roads are paths along the rocks in which steel ladders are carved, which are used for climbing. The first via ferrata in Serbia was made on Kablar.

Additional notes:

  • For the realization of the via ferrata Kablar tour, a minimum of 7 registered passengers is required, and for the organization of transport, a minimum of 5 registered passengers is required.
  • Climbing via ferrata doesn't require previous experience. It is not recommended for people who have acrophobia.
  • Climbing is completely safe, does not require exertional effort. Climbing is on secured ladders, with mandatory additional equipment - rope, helmet and belt, as well as accompanying trained guides.
  • The Ferata is 45 meters high and its overall length is 60 meters due to its wrap. Climbing and descent from a ferret lasts about an hour.

  • Equipment –  layered clothing adapted to the weather conditions, hiking shoes, backpack with enough water (1.5 l), sun protection (hat, sunglasses, cream with UV factor).
  • Information about a hiking trail: to the starting point of the via ferrata is about 45 minutes of hiking, with an ascent of about 400 m, after the via ferrata, whoever wants to, can go to the top of Kablar to the viewpoint, then the descent follows. The total duration of the hike is about 4 hours.

  • Travel to Ovčar Banja, arrival by 9am.

Via ferrata on the rocks of Kablar and hiking to the top of Kablar

  • Preparation for the via ferrata, familiarization with the equipment, instructions from the instructor.
  • Hiking along the mountain path lasting about 1 hour to the point where the via ferrata starts with an ascent of about 400 m.
  • Safe climbing with the necessary equipment to the Turčinovac cave lasting about an hour. A break for a break in the cave from where there is a beautiful view of the neighboring Ovčar and Ovčar Banja. After that, there is a descent down the rocks of Kablar using the abseiling technique, which represents a real adrenaline experience for the end of the via ferrata.
  • After the via ferrata, participants can go further along the hiking trail to the viewpoint on the top of Kablar, from where the meanders of Western Morava can be best seen. If the entire hiking trail is crossed to the top, the total length is 11 km, with about 600 m of ascent and descent. The trail belongs to the medium-easy category.
  • At the end of the tour, lunch at one of the restaurants in Ovcar Banja.
